chicago corporate photography

Here are some photos from come corporate events I recently shot around Chicago

Wrapping up the year this week. Hope you have a great 2010!

Saturday

Things are starting to wind down for the year. 2009 has been tough but, if there is any saving grace, it is that we all went through it together. either way. 2010 is going to be a great year! lots to get done.

Tuesday

December: seems to be "University month" in my email box. I love working with universities! slightly more laid back than corporate shoots but, man do they want to negotiate! either way. My rates have always been fair for both the universities and for me. I set my rates so we both win! How can that be bad?
Hi everyone.
It has been a while since I posted. I have a great event shoot which involved boeing Inc. Their headquaters moved to Chicago about 9 years ago from Seattle. Anyway. Great event, met some interesting people and had a chance to photograph some amazing people. One day, I will post the photos once I am allowed.

Thursday

WE have been trying to decide on which prints we want to display in our loft. This has not been an easy task. People no people, buildings, wildlife it goes on and on. time to decide and just order the prints. By the way we are talking about 36 x28 size prints here. I can wait to see what we end up with. If we don't like it, was can always sell the prints and pick new ones.

Monday

It has been a busy fall. I hope everyone is doing well. The leaves are starting to turn in the city. With the cold weather, I hope they all turn about the same time, it would be a beautiful thing to wrap up the fall.
I have some corporate shoots this week. nothing I can post in public yet. I will have more pictures going up soon from another recent shoot.

Here is a sample of a corporate head shot for a resume.

Wednesday

weather was kinda overcast for a lot of the weekend. I feel like we are in monsoon season around here. When we get a string of a few dry days in a row. I will have some new skyline shots to show you.

Tuesday

I love magazines so I have to share this little diddy with you. Your own magazine, yep make your own MINE you can put articles together from a bunch of mags and it is all yours. what a clever idea. They will send a free copy, check it out and make your own today.

Friday

I know " april showers brings may flowers", and if this is the case than May is really going to rock! Once again it rained today, which is normally fine but, I want to shoot outside and dragging your camera in the rain is not what the manufacture really recommends. This weekend should be dry. Hope to get out and shoot the new buildings in the area.

Sunday

What a great week! Things are starting to pick back up and traffic online is much higher then it was last month. I have some clients on the Eastcoast who might be startinga new project. A project that involves me. ( my favorite kind of project.) Either way, I am not sitting around waiting for an answer. I just hope we are not booked at that time.

Thursday

Man I am getting all "social media-ed out". Facebook, twitter, myspace. linkedin, this blog, website, podcasts, videos...Oy! Used correctly, they are very good instruments to getting your message out. but the learning curve and the hidden usages of each one can really put a damper on your first couple of free days after joining.

It is not like technology of the past, where it was launched then a newer version would come out to replace it that you had to buy. Now a new social meadia is launched, you learn the basics, then some 13 year old from sweeden builds some apps that once downloaded do half the work for you yet adds a new learning curve you have to jump over.

anyway, If you really want to follow me on twitter, I can be found at @warneka

another note, I hope you have nice weather where you are reading this from.

Sunday

Here is a way some photographers can put their photos to good use. Check out what google maps is looking for.

Saturday

The world does not know what it is in for!

My brother Tim Warneka in Cleveland just did a pod/vid cast using skype. It was a blast and in usual form I was hoping to make it to 10 minutes. Well we now have a podcast that explains how and why you should have a podcast ( it is only 40+ minutes long) and and second one on where business is headed. - that is a very good cast and the subject is can get very deep. Look for them in the near future on my site or at Http://www.blackbeltconsulting.com , or timwarneka.com, or on this blog

Thursday

I am adding more podcasts while I can. It is starting to get a little hecktic around here.

Wednesday

I did a podcast on Gut instinct or intuition for photographers. It is interesting that everybody has the gut instinct built into them, it is just that some people have a higer developed instinct that others do.

The good news is that you can work on it and improve, or more accurately, learn to read the senses that you have and what they mean. The more you learn to connect the inside feelings with the outside stimulus, the better you will be a figuring out the right answer that is best for you at that time.

I cover some of the hints or signs that you can use to understand what your gut instinct does for you and how it plays in your daily life. You can find my podcasts on the top right side of this page. I will have more and I hope you enjoy them and most of all, learn from them.

Monday

Hi Everyone,

sorry I have not been able to post lately. I have been working on some podcasts. I plan on releasing these podcasts to help photographer get a better grasp on their business. I get asked and see the same questions on forums about business that I don't think is answered by others. I will post when they are ready. I hope you download them and like'em.

Sunday

I know, update your blog frequently. I try but this time of year taxes kick in. Besides that, my corporate clients start to need their files a little faster then they did in december. I'm Glad I get to work with them of course, but it does add to the crunch. It is all part of the business. I love it so, no big deal.
SuperBowl to day... time to relax.
